RoboCup Small Size League Lab
RoboCup is an international robotics competition. In the soccer league, teams of autonomous robots play soccer with the goal to advance robotics research. In the Small Size League (SSL), teams of wheeled, cylindrical robots compete on a small field, with an emphasis on strategy, speed, and precision.
In this lab course, you will work in groups to complete simulation-based assignments, which you will then apply to real robots. The semester will end with a final competition.

Attendance for the in-person meetings is compulsory.
Assignment Sheets
Throughout the semester, you will work in groups of three students to solve four assignment sheets. You will have two weeks to complete each assignment. All of the assignment sheets will be completed in simulation. In the schedule above, assignment sheets are abbreviated with "A" followed by the number of the assignment sheet. For example, assignment sheet 1 is abbreviated as "A1".
Assignment sheets will be uploaded on Ilias on the dates stated in the schedule above.
Presentations
During the in-person meetings, whenever there is something in the schedule with 'Presentations' in the title, you will present the technical implementation of your assignment solution as a group. You will also give a live demonstration of your solution. These presentations will be followed by a short round of questions from the supervisors and fellow students.
Working with the Real Robots
We aim to move from simulation to real robots at the beginning of 2026, depending on hardware availability and system readiness. More information will be shared in the course of the semester.
Final Competition
More information will follow.
